Knife Crime Awareness: Why Understanding the Reality Changes the Decision

Crime Scene

Prevention That Goes Beyond the Assembly

A one-off assembly about knife crime raises awareness. It rarely changes behaviour. What changes behaviour is a young person genuinely understanding what carrying a knife means — not in abstract terms, but in the specific, concrete reality of what happens next.

Our Knife Crime workshops are delivered by credible messengers — people who understand the environments where these decisions are made, and who can speak about the consequences with an authority that comes from direct experience. The sessions go beyond the statistics and the warnings to explore why young people carry knives, what the legal consequences look like in practice, the physical and emotional impact on victims and their families, and how to navigate the social pressures that make carrying feel necessary.

The workshops are adapted for year group and setting — from general awareness sessions for whole year groups to more targeted delivery for students identified as higher risk.

“Our students were thoroughly engaged. We look forward to using the company again to develop our understanding in this area."
