Safeguarding & Child Protection
Our Commitment
At Pathways Education Project CIC, we believe that every young person has the right to a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive. Safeguarding is central to everything we do, and we are committed to promoting the welfare, safety, and wellbeing of the children and young people we work with.
Our Role
Pathways provides mentoring, workshops, and social and emotional learning (SEL) programmes in partnership with schools, local authorities, and community organisations.
We engage young people through credible messengers — trained practitioners with lived experience who act as positive role models and build trust in a safe, structured way.
Where appropriate, Pathways contributes to multi-agency discussions to support the early identification and prevention of harm.
Working in Partnership
We recognise that safeguarding is a shared responsibility. We work collaboratively with:
-
Schools and colleges
-
Local authorities and early help services
-
Parents, carers, and guardians
-
Other agencies where appropriate
This partnership approach helps ensure that concerns about a child or young person are identified and addressed promptly.
Raising Concerns
If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person involved in a Pathways programme, please contact us as soon as possible via: info@pathwayseducationproject.com
Concerns are reviewed and acted upon in line with our safeguarding procedures. Where Pathways is delivering within a school or local authority setting, concerns will also be shared with the relevant safeguarding lead in accordance with local procedures.
If a child is at immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted without delay.
Our Staff and Volunteers
All Pathways staff, volunteers, and credible messengers:
-
Receive safeguarding and child protection training

Understand and maintain clear professional boundaries
-
Follow defined procedures for reporting concerns
